“For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.”
James 3:2
God doesn’t expect you to pioneer a new path on the earth, that’s why when you became born again, you are expected to be a follower of Jesus; he calls you a disciple, meaning that someone already pioneered the way and you follow him as a faithful disciple:
“looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
In his life, he was conscious that he was giving us an example:
“For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.” John 13:15
Look at what he said:
“I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.” John 8:38
While unbelievers speak and do casually and recklessly what they see from the world, a disciple would speak and eventually do what he has seen from the word- he wouldn’t offend in word; he is a matured man.
