“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬

He goes on from the main verse to tell you what you ought to do to be filled with the Spirit. Throughout the scriptures we’ve seen how the presence of the Holy Ghost overhauled the trajectory of events faced by the people of God- in the thick of defeat, when he showed up the battle was decisively won! We also see how the Apostles received boldness and did even more for Jesus when they were filled with the Spirit:
“Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them… Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬, ‭13‬, ‭31‬
So it is such a delight to know that the word of God doesn’t just tell us to be filled with the Spirit but shows us how; meaning that we can decidedly walk with God and change the trajectory of events or circumstances we might face.
