“To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:” Romans 2:7
We must see Jesus if we expect to walk in the glory we have been called into, this is was the only action he expected of us when we had been brought into his presence:
“Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me WHERE I AM; that they may BEHOLD MY GLORY…” John 17:24
and we see him, as we look into the word of God: 2 Corinthians 3:18
This means all he expects of us now that we are in Christ is that we give attention to his word, and learn of him how to live our lives; how to respond to situations and live the life of victory that is innate to us:
“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4
No wonder, even though as the creator of the world he knew the many things people could get themselves involved in to have a sense of purpose or accomplishment, he said only ONE thing is needful— paying attention to him:
“…Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word… But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:39, 42
That’s where the glory that men seek resides!
