Glory, Glory, Glory!
What an unforgettable experience we had at the anointing service, the auditorium was full of people with diverse and numerous expectations and these expectations were met and surpassed.
Pastor shared a few things to get us ready to receive, she announced that the Spirit of God was present and ready for everyone who was ready and that just as there are radio waves everywhere but it takes a person to tune in to receive the signals, all we needed to do was to be turned on to receive.
Pastor taught that one of the reasons we have numerous and different examples in the Bible of miraculous things that God did is to show us that he can do anything and that it doesn’t have to take time; while some things might take time to become obvious, there are things that don’t have to take time; miracles or changes that happen in an instant. Pastor gave an example of how David went from being a shepherd boy to being anointed King in an instant and once this happened, the Spirit of God coming upon him caused him to kill a bear and a lion, she taught us that when the Spirit of God takes over us, we receive supernatural abilities to easily and speedily accomplish what may have been difficult to do before.
Pastor showed us that the length of time spent suffering the effect of the challenge is not a factor, God doesn’t need an equal amount of time to cause a change, he can do it in an instant, nothing is too difficult for him. Pastor shared the story of the lame man at Bethesda, he had been in that condition lying on his back and unable to get up or walk for thirty eight years, Jesus instructed him to take up his bed and walk and he immediately walked and was made whole, it didn’t matter that he had been there for a long time, everything that had gotten damaged in his body was completely restored in an instant.
Pastor further shared some lessons from 2 Kings 6:25 – 2 Kings 7:20, there was a great famine in the land of Samaria because they had been besieged by the Syrian Army and could not go out to get food, things got so bad that people began to eat their children, in the midst of this famine, the prophet Elisha gave a word prophesying an instant economic turnaround within a day, shortly after, four lepers outside the city decided to risk going to the enemy camp hoping to get help and convinced that they would die of hunger if they stayed put, they got there to meet an empty camp; God had caused the Syrians to hear the sound of many horses, chariots and a great host and they fled for their lives, the lepers found food, silver, gold and clothings and after eating and hiding so much for themselves, they repented and shared the good news with the city, in that instant, the prophecy was fulfilled. One of the king’s men had doubted the prophecy and exclaimed that it wouldn’t come to pass even if God opened the windows of heaven and the prophet had responded by saying he would see it but he would not partake of it, it turned out that he was trampled to death as he took charge of the gate while the people plundered the goods. Pastor taught us that the Spirit of God who changed the economy of a nation in a day can do much more in the life of any individual, she charged us not to be like the man who doubted the prophecy, not to question how the Spirit of God is going to bring about the desired change in an instant but to respond to the word of God as the lame man at the pool of Bethesda did, she also reminded us that the same Spirit that brought about these miracles was present in the service and he has experience in dealing with any type of issues.
Pastor went on to teach that the best gifts are spiritual because while any other thing can be stolen, spiritual blessings cannot be stolen, she explained that just as God did with Solomon making him wise and wealthy through words, when God wants to bless anyone, he uses his word which is a seed that yields result, she also mentioned that God neither works by favouritism nor considers our past in blessing us.
Pastor concluded the message by reading from Luke 24:50,
“And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.”
Pastor showed us that the last thing Jesus did before he ascended was to take his disciples asides and bless them by lifting his hands to minister to them causing a change in their lives, she then ministered to everyone in the auditorium and we were strengthened to be more effective in our walk with God even as we received all of our desires.
The service did not end without Pastor ministering to those who had any form of issues in their bodies, as she prayed and ministered healing via the word of knowledge, many came out to gloriously testify of being healed in their bodies at various points during the service.
Indeed, God can do anything!
