What a glorious month May has been, on the last Sunday of the month, Pastor shared a powerful message with us which she began by pointing us to how Peter summarised the ministry of Jesus in Acts 10:38; God anointed him with the Holy Ghost and with power and he went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil for God was with him. We saw how God is so interested in changing lives that he anointed Jesus to do so, sent him forth and worked with him. We also saw how that John Baptist, being in prison and hearing of the works of Jesus sent two of his disciples to ask if he was the Messiah or if they should look for another, Jesus’ response was to work miracles in their presence and tell them to go and bear witness to John the Baptist of the lives that were being changed, his proof that he was the sent one was in the changed lives. Jesus in Luke 4:18 referred to the purpose of the Spirit’s anointing upon him, he declared that he was anointed to change lives and he also upon his ressurection and ascension into heaven, sent forth his disciples to change lives, we also saw how he introduced to them the one significant person necessary for us to change lives or to experience changes in our own lives. In Acts 1:8, he said we would receive power- the ability to cause changes, when the Holy Ghost comes upon us, the Holy Ghost is that one person needed.

Pastor went on to share how that in life, courage is often needed and necessary, many times, we know the right thing to do according to God’s word but we require courage to follow through, in Joshua 1:8, God charged Joshua to be courageous as the only requirement to walk in the promise he had received. The word will always work but we require strength, courage and boldness to do the word and to respond the right way at all times and it is the Holy Ghost who makes us bold. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says he always causes us to triumph, Philippians 2:13 also says he is at work in us causing us both to will and to do of his good pleasure. The Holy Ghost is in us to cause changes in our lives and one way he does this is by making us bold to do what we ought to do to have the kind of results that only God could have influenced, he also causes us to have the right responses when situations arise. Pastor rounded off her message by teaching us what our point of action should be, she charged us on the need to be conscious of the Holy Ghost and taught us that the way to ensure this is to speak in tongues because he is the one who gives us the ability to do so, when we speak in tongues, we embolden ourselves and we build courage. Glory to God!
