“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”
Psalms 127:1
We are laborers together with God, he shows us what to do and we follow his lead:
“For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” 1 Corinthians 3:9
The Bible tells us:
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:29
The word “conformed to” is from the Greek “summorphos” which can be rendered “jointly formed”, “fashioned like”, so he tells us it is our destiny to be jointly formed and fashioned like Jesus, his expectation is that at the end, like Jesus we can say:
“If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.” John 14:7
Jesus is the word of God and so it is no surprise in his desire to ensure we are exactly like him, he expects us to be built up with and by his word. There is no other resource good and like Jesus enough that is suitable for our being built up.
You are born of the word, and so grow and enter into God’s perfect destiny for you.
