“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15‬:‭8‬

Listen to Jesus:
“And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭15‬
What an absolute statement! He left no room for adjustments and when we see that, we should ensure that we are not fascinated by that which is exalted and highly esteemed by men, remember the kingdoms of the world are glorious, that satan even thought they would be suitable a temptation for Jesus:
“Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬
But the glory of man fades eventually:
“…And all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭24‬
So Jesus said: John 8:49-50.
When God sees and knows your heart, what should be visible to him should be what’s more important to you- what he says and thinks, not what men want, say or do.
