“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me.”
Matthew 15:8
Honor God with your lips but let it be an expression of your beautiful fellowship with him from your heart and what’s more important is the fact that you can actually judge for yourself your position with God, not by how much you ‘feel’ close to him, but by how much of his word you are submissive to.
“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” John 7:24
That is what he looks out for and that is what would be a blessing to you:
“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God…”James 4:6-7
In fulfilling his purpose for your life, you have to be determined to honor him and ensure your desires and intentions are deeply rooted in his word, so that no matter what you face, your position at every given instant would be God’s word and even as you match on progressively on his path for your life, your inspiration would always be his word.
