“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:”
Matthew 7:24
“And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.” Matthew 7:25
One of the interesting things to note from the example Jesus gave was that the wise and the foolish men both faced exactly the same challenges. The man who did the word and the one who did not do the word faced challenges; this means challenges do not discriminate, it is doing the word that differentiates.
One would think since the wise man was doing the word, he would be immune from challenges- no! Wise men face challenges, foolish men do also, but the difference becomes clear after the storm; the wise man would not fall- he would not lose anything, instead he’d be tougher. God didn’t stop the floods from coming or the winds from blowing, he didn’t prevent the wind from beating the house- you are God’s house! The floods will come, the winds will blow and beat, but because you are wise and you do the word, they’d only make you stronger and wiser, the Bible says:
“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” Proverbs 9:9
Everything that happens to the one who does the word, only makes him better. Don’t be surprised when challenges come, they should but you’d not fall- never!
