“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14

God called you with a holy and high calling through the gospel, it was a call to live the glorious and virtuous life and when you received the gospel, you answered his call:
“…him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:3
You ought to manifest his glory to your world, and we see from the main verse, that must entail manifesting his grace- his loving kindness to your world and also, living the sanctified life:
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” Titus 2:11-12
Jesus was the brightness of God’s glory when he walked on the earth:
“Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son… Who being the brightness of his glory…” Hebrews 1:2-3
And he lived such a sanctified life and he expects you to do the same- that is a necessary part in your expressing his glory to your world.
“…Christ… leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:” 1 Peter 2:21-22
“And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.” John 17:19
