“Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.”
Romans 4:4

You know every Sabbath the children of Israel didn’t just waste time gisting and sleeping at home, they gathered together to listen to the word, you see a plethora of examples, like we have here:
“And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. And in the synagogue…” Luke 4:31-33
So in your rest, he doesn’t mean just spend time being unproductive- instead spend time with his word, reading and meditating, and he assures you these would happen to you (Joshua 1:8, Psalms 1:2-3)
• You will make your way prosperous
• You will have good success
• You will be compelled into profitable associations and deeds:
“I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.” Proverbs 8:20-21
And what’s more? We see in John 1:14,16, the word of God is full of grace, as you spend time with the word, the grace of God is manifested increasingly in your life for all to see: 1 Timothy 4:15.
