“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
2Peter 3:18

Grace in its most simplest definitions means “unmerited favour”, it also means “the divine influence upon a spirit and its reflection in life”.
This simply means God has influenced your spirit, Grace is when that influence is made obvious in your life.
We received the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and got born again- we received eternal life and that life supplanted the human life permanently, forever!
In receiving that grace, we received the divine life forever, meaning forever we would be overwhelmed and influenced by divinity in our spirits, God wants such an influence to reflect in our lives in increasing measure- he says grow in grace!
Maybe because of this divine influence, you can go through cold weathers without “catching” the cold but when you stay around people with the flu for a while, you “catch” the flu, God wants his divine influence to overwhelm your life’s expressions such that the supernatural life of God you receive subdues your environment and positions you in God’s will steadfastly.
