“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:”
Ephesians 4:15

In all things, you should be like Jesus- that’s the expectation. What’s more? You receive nourishment from him to ensure this is your reality: Ephesians 4:16
He says, you are edified in love, because love is that which builds up:
“…Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.” 1 Corinthians 8:1, NET
As you grow; increasing in your knowledge of the son of God, choose to walk in love not in snotty pride, never be puffed up or scornful, that is one sure sign that you are not walking in love and as such you are not growing spiritually:
“Love is… not puffed up.” 1 Corinthians 13:4, NET
You are not walking in the wisdom that comes from God:
“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, ACCOMMODATING, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and not hypocritical.” James 3:17, NET
And you are lacking in God’s purposes for your life and the earth:
“A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not…” Proverbs 14:6
“Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.” Proverbs 3:34
