“But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”
Hebrews 3:13

What an instructive verse of scripture; he tells us as long as the day is called ‘today’; that means every day of your life, you should receive the exhortation of the word of God and he goes ahead and makes clear what is possible if you do not- you would become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Being distant from God’s word can harden you against walking in righteousness, no matter how certain you are of your convictions, the word of God is the reality and trumps the persuasions, expectations or experiences of man, and he’s telling you that if you let yourself be distracted and you keep away from God’s word, you are letting yourself be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin, even though you might not observe it optically. The good news is: it is clear that keeping fellowship with the word would ensure your consistent walk of righteousness.
