“Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.”‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭28‬
When God saves a man from crime, he expects him to be productive and helpful to others. Remember Jesus already said, whatever you require, God already knows:
““So do not start worrying: ‘Where will my food come from? or my drink? or my clothes?’ (These are the things the pagans are always concerned about.) Your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things.” Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ ‭GNBUK‬
And has provided: Matthew 6:11, Psalm 68:19.
So he directs your mind to being helpful towards others, no wonder he didn’t say “that he may have to eat and drink”, because any life that focuses just on eating and drinking is- according to God’s word- foolish and purposeless with definite death in view: Luke 12:19-20, 1 Corinthians 15:32.
