“And I knew that thou hearest me always…”
John 11:42
As we have seen in Malachi 3:13-14, that God doesn’t want you speaking words of unbelief and regret, he also says:
“Let there be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse [obscene or vulgar] joking, because such things are not appropriate [for believers]; but instead speak of your thankfulness [to God].” Ephesians 5:4 Amplified Bible
The content of your communication, up to the kind of jokes you share are so important to God, don’t say silly things and excuse them away as just talking- recognize God is in you and like Jesus said:
“…the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” John 14:10
He wants to be expressed by you at all times! The Bible says:
“Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince.” Proverbs 17:7
But Christ has been made unto you wisdom; so refrain from lying and speak excellent words.
