“…Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always…”
John 11:41-42

Jesus said:
“And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.” John 8:29
This was after he had said:
“…I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.” John 8:28
He did what was pleasing to God by minding what he said:
“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” Matthew 12:36
He only spoke as God had taught him. What has God taught us:
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
See Jesus’ consciousness of this truth and God’s presence at work in the main verse; even when he should have been distraught by Mary’s weeping and Martha’s opposition, conscious that God heard him, he gave thanks.
John 11:41-42
