“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:”
Colossians 1:12
As an unbeliever, you were separated from God, the wrath of God was upon you, you were doomed! When you got born again, that unqualified sinner died and a new man appeared:
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2Corinthians 5:17
This new man is the child of the living God and nothing is too good for him; nothing is too good for you!
“…made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the…”
He goes further and states you have an inheritance:
“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” Romans 8:17
Not of money or of things that will pass away or become useless; your inheritance is God himself!
“… heirs of God…”
Everything that he has is yours, just like it is Jesus:
“All things that the Father hath are mine…” John 16:15
And you are joint heirs with Jesus. Jesus didn’t go about thinking he was unqualified:
“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:” Philippians 2:6
In fact, his consciousness of who he was and what God thought of him was visible in the miraculous things he did:
“…but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” John 14:10
It should be the same for you! Jesus thinks so:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do…” John 14:12
