“For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”
Proverbs 4:22

He tells us when you find the word, you’ve found life; the word of God should impact your spirit, soul and body, he’d minister health to your flesh! You take advantage of this reality by attending to the word, paying attention and not treating the word casually or absent mindedly:
“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.” Proverbs 4:20-21
In attending to the word, you could hear different voices and different words, and that could affect how much of the word would influence you, but he says don’t just attend to the word- incline your ear to his sayings; literally, stretch towards his word, even if it seems difficult because there are overwhelming voices and they all have a meaning- he says stretch towards his word; make every effort to prioritize and amplify your listening to him. It matters what you hear, because what you hear can ultimately influence your life, health and flesh- it is just too important.
Jesus said:
“…Consider carefully what you hear…” Mark 4:24, NHEB
