“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:3-4
He says every Christian is dead, dead from the rudiments of this world:
“Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,” Colossians 2:20
we are under no obligation to follow or submit ourselves to the ordinances of the world. What might affect others in the world cannot affect us.
People keep rules and make extreme decisions so they would not die; just to stay alive, but if we are dead to the world, then there is no need for us to keep those rules any more!
He says Christ is our life! Glory to God!
Christ means “the anointed one”! This means the anointing is our life!
The man with an ordinary life might eat something and die, but there’s something about the anointing:
“And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.” 2Kings 13:21
Elisha’s bones were so anointed by the Holy Ghost that when a man died, those bones brought him back to life. The anointing didn’t die with Elisha, it was fully active and was even bringing people back from the dead. Elisha was anointed; the anointing was not his life!
Now the Bible says, that anointing that never dies is our life- no wonder he said:
“…and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19
