“Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.”
2 Timothy 1:13
When you hear God’s word, be determined to keep the word and do the word, remembering that when God’s word that comes to you, he seeks to bring you into walking in his reality in accordance with who you really are.
God’s word is a mirror:
“For if anyone hears the word… he is like a man who looks at himself in a mirror” James 1:23, ISV
He shows you who you are, he tells you truth, hold fast the truth you’ve heard concerning your situation, the truth you’ve seen about yourself and be diligent to ensure that the truth is always at the fore of your Christian living. Here is an example of holding fast the word:
““I say to you, get up, pick up your mat, and go home!” So the man got up, immediately picked up his mat, and went out in front of all of them…” Mark 2:11-12, ISV
Once you hear the word, accept that the reality you thought you had has changed and the word is now your reality and immediately walk in the light of his word.
