“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Romans 5:5
He says hope maketh not ashamed because of love, and the word of God says:
“Love never fails…” 1 Corinthians 13:8,ISV
Love must be the basis for any expectation you have; remove selfishness from your life. Your hope for a more prosperous life should be rooted in the word of God:
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2
“…for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” 2 Corinthians 9:7-8
Not because you want to show off to your colleagues or oppress some fellow with your cash!
Your desire for a miracle, should be sincere, not to prove to people that God is with you as against his not being with them.
Your expectation for a spouse should be rooted in love- selflessness, not rooted in the idea that you would finally have someone slaving for you in labour or in cash!
‘Hope no go shame us’, it’s true, but ‘make love dey guide us’!
