“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:”
1 Peter 5:6
Jesus made clear the condition of his heart- lowly (Matthew 11:27) and that was seen in his response to his detractors and in his walk with God, and so he never went beyond, he stuck to God’s command and said only what God asked him to:
“…I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.” John 8:28
And when it came to it, because he lived a life of humility, he chose the will of God against his and died for the sins of mankind:
“…nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” Luke 22:42
But there was a due time for his exaltation, the Bible tells us:
“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:” Philippians 2:8-9
Humility should be your character, demeanor and lifestyle so when it comes to it, you’d choose God’s will over yours and walk in the fullness of his blessings.
