“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:”
1 Peter 5:6

As you choose submission to God’s word above all, make no mistakes, there could be moments of shame and ridicule, but remember Jesus:
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
He endured the cross and he despised the shame— the shame meant nothing to him, the mockery, questionings and ridicule of people should mean nothing to you; look at the word and do what he says!
The Bible tells us:
“…all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever…” 1 Peter 1:24-25
The glory- praise and adulation of men would wither, they would stop one day, what would remain forever is the word of God, and that is the glory you should seek, just like Jesus: John 5:41.
