“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.”
1 Corinthians 6:17
There is so much to learn from Jesus’ encounter with Saul on his way to Damascus and what happened afterwards. Firstly, how he identified with his disciples:
“and he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” Acts 9:4
He didn’t say “why persecutest thou Stephen or Peter…” he was so identified with them- one spirit, perfectly joined with them- that he said “why persecutest thou me”.
Secondly, after Paul became blind, he wanted to heal him. Remember, when he walked on the earth, he laid hands on the blind and they recovered, so what did he do to Paul, now that he had ascended?
“and hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.” Acts 9:12
He got a disciple, whose hands are a member of Christ to lay hands on him and Paul received his sight. Same Jesus, still being wonderful, reaching the world through his disciples, those who he is one with- us!
