“And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.”
Luke 9:29

When Jesus prayed there was change, such a change it affected his clothes! Think about it, if that same garment that changed because it had been affected by his prayer was touched in faith by someone who was sick, there would be instant miracles! So the Bible says:
“And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.” Mark 6:56
This is true about you also, when you pray- as you speak in other tongues, changes happen!
“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself…” 1 Corinthians 14:4
The Bible says, you are edified- built up- this means some spiritual mitosis and multiplication happens inside of you as you pray, something gets altered- what was bad before is altered for good, and what was running fine before would be altered unto flight!
It matters what you think about while praying, if your focus is on how your legs are tired or when the praying would stop, you’d have done yourself a great disservice, but if you realize and focus on the fact that as long as you pray, things are being altered inside of you, what was altered ten minutes before is further altered as you continue praying, then as much as praying is work, it becomes something to be excited about!
The word ‘edified’ can also be rendered ‘repaired’ meaning when you pray, things are being set right inside of you and then that brain that has always caused you to lust after traveling to Egypt would be altered by the power of God’s spirit and you would begin to lust after the will of God:
“And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:27
Prayer changes your desires! After all it guides you off temptations!
