“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
Amos 3:3
God doesn’t agree with you, you are the one to agree with God, respond to his word and walk in his good pleasure. Interestingly, agreeing with him and responding accordingly wouldn’t always seem sensible. God’s word is not common sense, but there are cases where common sense could be an expression of God’s word. Hear his instruction to Moses:
“But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” Exodus 14:16
Think about it; the only seeming miracle wrought in the presence of water by God before then was instructing Noah to build an ark, and even that instruction seemed more sensible because everyone who entered would be locked in a container, safe from the rains and thw flood, one would think he’d have given the Jews supernatural strength and speed to quickly build a big boat to transport them on the red sea- but historical precedence and common sense are not always good predictors or indicators of the plans and strategies of God.
Even though everything is pushing you to worry, God doesn’t need to agree with your feelings and the dire situation you think you are in. You are the one to agree with him; with his word, and he says:
“Never worry about anything. Instead, in every situation let your petitions be made known to God through prayers and requests, with thanksgiving.” Philippians 4:6, ISV
