What a glorious year it has been thus far, we have had wonderful times learning timeless truths every Sunday as we continued on the series “Fast Ahead”.

Last Sunday, we continued looking at Hebrews 12:1 and the subject of laying aside weights, we saw what God’s attitude is to such weights that may be slowing us down, God thinks we can easily lay them aside and he instructs us to do so. Pastor shared several instances from the word where Jesus had such a mindset regarding seemingly difficult situations, he once met a man who had been lame for thirty eight years and despite knowing that he had long been in that situation, Jesus simply instructed him to take up his bed and walk, this was very similar to how he responded to the man taken with palsy whose four friends brought in through the roof, Pastor charged us to side with God, to believe that nothing is difficult for us to do and to lay aside every weight, including every form of worry; if God says we should, it means we can.

Pastor further explained how the sin of unbelief besets and hinders people from getting to where God has planned for them, God is big and can do anything, he only expects us to believe, Pastor taught us that many times when people begin to doubt because of a seeming delay, it is because they are not conscious of what God is doing behind the scene to bring about the result of what they have believed and the moment they begin to doubt, they lose out completely.

She also quoted from Romans 10:10 where the bible says that “with the heart, man believes unto righteousness”, we were reminded that righteousness means being right with God with the result that every other thing begins to go right in our lives; this means that through believing and insisting on the word of God, any Christian can ensure that things that were going in the wrong direction begin to go in the right direction, if a Christian feels sickness in his body, the moment he believes, his body begins to function right.

Pastor brought the message to a conclusion by reading from Romans 5:17,

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

The word of God shows us that dominion came with the gift of righteousness, before Jesus came, death reigned over men, people got to realise that there was something more powerful than them which held sway over them without their permission, they experienced sickness, death and lack and could do nothing about it, but now, having received the gift of righteousness, we have the ability to reign much more than death reigned such that whereas death was in charge causing things to go wrong, we have now been authorized and given the ability to ensure that things go right.
