“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
2 Corinthians 4:16

Irrespective of what you think is happening to your outward man, your focus should be on your inward man. This is what God focuses on:
“…for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”  1 Samuel 16:7
There are benefits to taking care of your outward man- physics outlook, but the greatest profit is in exercising your spirit- that inward man:
“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”  1 Timothy 4:8
So this means, you should give more priority to training your spirit- dedicate more time to doing that than you do to beautifying your physical appearance. Look at John the Baptist:
“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.”  Luke 1:80
Look at Jesus:
“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.”  Luke 2:40
We are disciples of Jesus and so we ought to always emphasize the strengthening of our spirits- you do this as you spend more time with God’s word through Bible study and listening to messages and prayer- building up (strengthening) yourself by speaking in tongues:
“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself…”  1 Corinthians 14:4
