“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”  
2 Corinthians 4:16

You prove the will of God with your inward man, it is your inward man, your Spirit; that God communicates to:
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”  Romans 8:16
Even physically, people don’t pass messages to your cloth, they talk to you- they may commend what you’re wearing, but they would relate with you; the outward man, but even that is a covering. God talks to your Spirit and communicates to you through your Spirit.
The more you renew your mind to understand the potentials of your Spirit which is the real you, the easier it is for you to discern the will of God for your life:
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-10
God doesn’t expect you to make decisions about your future and relationships with your optical observations or solely on the experiences of others, his will for your life is wrapped up inside of him and as you commune with his word, praying in other tongues, it becomes clearer to you. Maybe everybody is going East- rightly so, but when you pray, you’d realize God’s plan for your life is that you go West:
“And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee;” Genesis 26:1-3
