Glory to God!

We had such an awesome time of fellowship with the word at Love Haven Church, Port Harcourt during the special Sunday service with Pastor Ebi themed “It’s Time”.

Pastor introduced the message by reading from 2 Corinthians 6:2,

“For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

The word of God shows us that there is an accepted time, a day of salvation and that now; today is that day of salvation, the word of God does not promise tomorrow for anyone’s salvation, instead he says now is the day of salvation.

Pastor taught us that salvation is an all encompassing word and God wants us saved from sicknesses, accidents, losses and every such thing, in Luke 19:10, Jesus told us that his mission was to seek and save those who are lost and while he walked the earth, he met different individuals who needed salvation, he brought salvation to Zaccheaus’ house; whereas he had been a sinner, he repented and received salvation from his sins, in John 5, Jesus met a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years and saved him from that condition, it was the day of salvation for that man.

Just as God does not promise anyone tomorrow concerning salvation from hell, he does not promise anyone tomorrow concerning salvation from sickness or anything else, today is the day of salvation and there is nothing God cannot do.

Pastor went on to teach what our response should be knowing that now is the time of salvation.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10

To appropriate this salvation that God desires that we enjoy, we have to believe and speak the word, if all we had to do to be saved from hell was believe and speak, then any other salvation we require will be obtained through the same means; believing and speaking, Pastor mentioned that we are a reflection of the things that we say, she taught that many have put themselves at a disadvantage because of how they talk and that the day they start speaking the right words, they will catapult themselves out of that disadvantaged position, the Holy Ghost is our advantage and God has designed for us to be at the top but we can only walk in this reality by speaking the right words consistently.

Pastor showed us how Jesus demonstrated this truth while he walked on the earth, being life himself, he could not be affected by death but because he had to die for our sakes, he spoke of his death and resurrection at every opportunity he got; with his words, he made it possible for life to be affected by death.
