“Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.”
John 8:19
Isn’t it amazing and so wonderful that Jesus always hoped for us to be where he was and function just like him?
“Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am…” John 17:24
And even more:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John 14:12
He told us he only said what God wanted him to say: John 12:49, and he lived his life doing what God wanted because he loved God so:
“But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.” John 14:31
Now he beckons us to do the same if we love him: John 14:21,23.
Just as he kept his father’s words, John 8:55, he wants us to do the same and live the life he lived which we he has freely given us already.
