“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9

Look at this:
“For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.” Romans 14:7-8
The word of God expects you to place the Lordship of Jesus at the centre of your being and living; he should be at the fore of your decision making- leading and guiding you.
Before you declared him as Lord of your life, he died for your iniquities and bought you with a price:
“…and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
He is your saviour, owner and master!
Your response should be to live on the earth as though he is living through you, because he is: you become the expression of his desires and an enforcer of his purposes on the earth:
“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15
What he says becomes the standard with which you live your life, if he is your lord, then doing what he says would be most important to you.
