“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9

Recognising Jesus as Lord of your life is committing yourself to be forever submissive to his word, he had said:
“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” Luke 6:46
And he also said:
“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words…” John 14:23
He is telling that if you truly recognize his lordship in your life, you would keep his word, and if you loved him, you would do the same just like he kept the father’s word:
“Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.” John 8:55
“For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” John 12:49
Jesus Is the word of God, he might not appear to you in visions and dreams giving you specific instructions, but you have the word- that is more sure than any vision or dream- and he expects you to keep his word.
Submitting to God’s word, recognising Jesus as lord of your life and walking accordingly, is choosing to walk in wisdom and in greatness.
