“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;”
2 Timothy 3:14

He already told us:
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” James 1:22-24
This means anytime the word of God comes to you, he is showing you without bias your full description; that which is naturally easy for you to do and God wants you to put that knowledge to work immediately so you don’t forget. He emphasizes that you’re a different manner of man; a different specie, remember when Jesus walked on the earth, they asked:
“…What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”  Mark 4:41
When you got born again, you became exactly like him:
“…because as he is, so are we in this world.”  1 John 4:17
A different manner of man, and he shows you the potentials of this new man through his word and expects you be all that the word of God is.
Just as God wants you to do the word immediately, satan comes to steal the word immediately you are done listening:
“…but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.”  Mark 4:15
He uses challenges and distractions to suppress your remembering the word and doing the word- goes to show you, how easy it is for you and why you must side with God in doing the word immediately.
