“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;”
Colossians 1:10
God expects us to increase in our knowledge of him, he wants our knowledge of him to be ever expanding! Isn’t it amazing to know that God doesn’t want to be some mystery to us? In-fact he tells us the purpose of eternal life, the life Jesus brought for us:
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3
Contemplate on the fact that he lives inside of you and then it will be no surprise that he wants you to know him even more.
The word for ‘knowledge’ in the main verse is the Greek ‘epignosis’, which means ‘absolute knowledge- that knowledge that makes you one with what is known’, so God wants you to know him so well, you become inseparable from him, true to your present reality with him:
“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” 1 Corinthians 6:17
