“But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:”
Acts 9:15

God said:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11
He’s focused on your future- when he thinks of you, he doesn’t contemplate on your past (mistakes) but on the present and how to lead you to the glorious future he planned for you!
“…things present, or things to come; all are yours;” 1 Corinthians 3:22
Notice, he says the present and future are yours and makes no mention of the past and you see this even more prevalent in his interaction with Ananias: Acts 9:13-16
Ananias brings up Paul’s past which was worthy of all condemnation, yet Jesus focuses on his future- on his purpose for his life and even more kindly, makes clear that Paul would go through a lot! Imagine that!! He is more focused on your future and he knows the challenges that would come your way; he doesn’t just know them just because, he plans to be right there with you through it all- strengthening you as the dear friend that he is, just like he was with Paul in many occasions:
“For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.” Acts 18:10, see also Acts 23:11, 2 Timothy 4:17.
