Preaching causes deliverance!

“But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:” Acts 8:9

Make no mistakes about it, same demons that existed in Jesus’ and Apostle’s day, still exist today and if they could influence a man to use sorcery to bewitch a whole city, they are doing the same today to cities, families etc.
The good news is it didn’t matter how long the Samaritans had been bewitched or how much they had dedicated themselves to doing the bid of Simon, once Philip showed up- a man conscious of the gospel and its sole ability to save- the enchantment was broken, after years of being in bondage, one gospel-talking-man wrought a deliverance!
Philip didn’t go to Samaria because he heard they were bewitched, we aren’t told that he even knew such was the case, but see what his commitment to the gospel wrought!
You might not even know the deliverance wrought when you preach to someone and in extension their whole family or community, all you need to know is:
“…the gospel of Christ… is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” Romans 1:16
