Don’t give up preaching.
“For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.” Luke 9:56
What’s striking in the main verse is that the Bible says after being rejected by the Samaritans, Jesus restrained his disciples from being vengeful and simply went to preach elsewhere.
He didn’t let the overwhelming rejection of him and what he was going to say deter him, he knew there were other villages that would accept him wholeheartedly, like this one: Mark 6:53-55.
What a lesson for us! Don’t be surprised if people reject you and your message, they did so to Jesus (see also Mark 5:17), if they do, simply respond the way Jesus said you should:
“But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another…” Matthew 10:23
That must be the best response, because when the opportunity presented itself, he did exactly the same thing and guess what? Philip eventually went to Samaria, and what a reception he got: Acts 8:5-8
Sow the seed, others would water, God would give the increase.
