“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
1 John 1:5
Light has a location- it’s in the word and you are light, living your life true to who you really are; an offspring of the word: 1 Peter 1:23.
Notice, in 1 John 1:6, your experience in life is directly proportional to who you fellowship with, that is, who you are looking at and listening to:
“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us…” 1 John 1:3
Learn from Jesus:
“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” John 5:19, see also John 5:30
His eyes were fixed on the father and so he knew no limitations. Because of who he looked at and listened to, he knew a man who hadn’t walked for 38 years would walk, five loaves of bread was enough for thousands and a dead man could resurrect. Imagine if he listened to people like Andrew (John 6:8-9) or Martha (John 11:39)?
