“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
1 John 1:5

He tells us the message they got in fellowship with the father and the son- that God is light and in him is no darkness at all!
He isn’t just light, inside of him is light and he dwells in light:
“But if we walk in the light, as HE IS IN the light…” 1 John 1:7
We also know, that God’s word is light:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” John 1:1, 9
“The entrance of thy words giveth light” Psalms 119:130
This gives us a confidence in life, God would never be found outside the standards and dictates of his word, there’s no new thing in God that is different from or cannot be seen in his word. Every and any judgment God would ever mete, would never be outside his word.
