“For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.”
Acts 13:47
He set us to be light for the salvation of the gentiles- that’s the purpose and the goal, not the glorification of ourselves or misinterpretation of shining as some physical excellence.
You shine as light when you save a soul- that is Jesus’ definition.
And so this means you must walk with God in prayer to ensure every opportunity granted you to win a soul you take it; be a soul winner- the one that the Holy Ghost can count on to be more interested in the state of a man’s soul upon first interaction and not with the position he has in society or what you can gain from him.
Be inspired by Philip- all the Spirit told him was to join the chariot, with no further instructions, but he knew Philip was a soul winner and would cease any opportunity to offer salvation to the Eunuch, completely unbothered by his status in Ethiopia as the secretary of treasury to the Queen (Acts 8:26-40)
Be a life giving Spirit; first think what you can give to those you meet rather than what you can gain; and you have that which is most important- the opportunity for their salvation. 1 Corinthians 15:45, 48.
