“For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.”
Acts 13:47
When Jesus tells us there are men in darkness; he doesn’t just mean where they are is physically dark, it’s more serious than that, listen to him expatiate:
“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God…” Acts 26:18
Everyone in the dark is under the authority of the devil and there’s only one end to his leadership:
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…” John 10:10
And so the message of salvation that we preach is also a message of deliverance:
“from darkness to light… Satan unto God…”
And what’s more, a message of a new life with an inheritance:
“…that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” (Acts 26:18)
Look at the wonder: that sinner who was bound under satan is immediately regenerated, becomes an heir of God and placed far above that same satan in authority!
