“◄Imitate/Behave like► God, because he loves you who are his children.”
Ephesians 5:1, T4T
“But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;” Ephesians 5:3
God’s children are not covetous because he is with them always, and this is loudly proclaimed in the word of God:
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5
He wants their joy to be full, and so he gives them what they ask:
“…Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.” John 16:23
See why covetousness is unnecessary? Covetousness, even hinders them from enjoying his lavish abundance that should be generously available to them in prayer:
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” James 4:3
The man lusts for his neighbors car and asks God in prayer, the bible says he would not get it because of covetousness.
Moses, was on his way to free a captive nation from the grip of the world power in his day- Egypt. One would think he would go there with weapons, armoury or at least skilled soldiers of war to defeat the Egyptians in human battle, he thought so also:
“…he… smote the Egyptian: For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them…” Acts 7:24-25
But God had another plan, and another resource; his shepherd’s rod was enough. What you have will always be enough because the one who is beyond more than enough has said under no circumstance will he forsake you. Glory to God!
