“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
John 14:21

When you have his word, keep his word- continue in his word:
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” John 15:4
Jesus said a productive and fruitful life is the sole result of his word in you, and he alone can really define what is productive and fruitful: John 15:7
Keep his word just like he did with the father’s word:
“…I know him, and keep his saying.” John 8:55
Isn’t it amazing he never asked us to do what he didn’t? And so because he knew the father wanted him to lay down his life:
“Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life…” John 10:17
Even when he had the opportunity to not do so, he kept the father’s word:
“Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:” John 18:8 (read from verse 1)
This is what the word has said about you- hold on to, keep the word: 1 John 5:4
