“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”  Matthew 4:19

Jesus, talking to Simon Peter and Andrew his brother, said he would make them fishers of men- he had the ability to make them something!
The word ‘make’ can also be rendered ‘to do’, ‘to be’; he would do something to them and they will become; he had the ability to change their being into what they ought to be!
All they had to do was to follow him.
If they followed him, they were made for life. They did.
When he sent them out to preach, they came back successful; they were so successful in doing it; people couldn’t differentiate Jesus from them- the news got to King Herod.
“And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where. Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed” Luke 9:6-7
“And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them. And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:)“ Mark 6:13-14
And after following Jesus, and receiving his life after he resurrected, same Peter that denied him in fear, and hid in a room with the doors shut because of fear of the Jews would begin to say:
“And who is he that will harm you,…and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;”  1 Peter 3:13-14
You have received his life, now follow him- let his word guide your actions in life; get made for life!
