“A merry heart makers a cheerful countenance: But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.”
Proverbs 15:13
A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance; how true! Because with joy, you would walk in the solution of whatever challenge you might face:
“Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” Isaiah 12:3
So always be merry, and one expression of being merry is singing-
“…Is any merry? let him sing psalms.” James 5:13
Isn’t it great to know that singing is one activity required to be filled with the Holy Ghost?
“…be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;” Ephesians 5:18-19
That same Spirit that vitalizes and beautifies all situation takes charge when you are merry. Do not be sad or depressed as though you serve a powerless God! Rejoice- your God is the one, true and great God!
