“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬

Read this:
“how that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭8‬:‭2‬
You know the Bible says in James 1:2 to count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptation, and that’s the life the church at Macedonia lived so vibrantly, the good news is because they lived the word, we can see the results- the Bible tells us that in a great trial of affliction, instead of weeping incessantly, they expressed joy- abundance of joy, and even more astonishing is the fact that they were not only afflicted with great trial but experienced deep poverty- two ingredients for a life filled with complaints, bitterness and questions, but they chose to do the word- they expressed joy in abundance, and the result? It abounded to the riches of their liberality- all of a sudden, the man who was deeply poor and facing great affliction, because he rejoiced(instead of complaining) began giving like a rich man liberally abundantly! How about the man that isn’t deeply poor and facing great trial but yet joyful?
