“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬

You would think God should understand that your response in the face of challenges should unsurprisingly be sadness and grief, but instead he tells you to count it joy! He gives no consideration to the matter at hand or your feelings, he just expects you to do the word because you can, you are born of God’s word after all:
“being born again… by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭23‬
And from the word, we are given insight as to why he expects you to remain joyful irrespective because firstly, there’s nothing too hard for him and secondly, grieving would not help the situation, it will make things worse: “but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed”
When given the option to do what you feel or to do the word, quickly submit your feelings to God’s word. Luke 14:12
