“Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:”
2 Peter 1:10

“And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience…” 2 Peter 1:6
Express self control. Add to your knowledge, self control- controlled by the knowledge you’ve acquired through your studying the word of God and not by the pomposity that knowledge generally gives:
“…Knowledge puffeth up…” 1 Corinthians 8:1
Because you know the Bible says:
“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:” James 1:19
Then, you let that knowledge control your life and if you were loquacious, you control how and when you talk, you let that knowledge control your temper; your temperament ceases to be some uncontrollable astronomical factor but an expression of the word of God that is good and perfect. Give diligence in ensuring that your thoughts, words and actions are controlled by the word of God just like Jesus:
“…the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” John 12:49
Add to self control, patience- the Bible says:
“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:4
Let the word control your hastings and be patient, patient to do God’s word and keep with God’s word, irrespective of the rush the world expresses and demands.
